Odyssey Rolls To Impressive Win At Sherwood
The end of the calendar year is just around the corner, but Odyssey is showing no signs of slowing down for the holidays. The #1 Putter in Golf took home another big win and big payday on Sunday at the World Challenge, where a White Hot #7 model closed out a three-shot win. Odyssey dominated the leaderboard all weekend and three of the top-4 had our putters in their bags:
Winner – White Hot #7
2nd – White Hot XG Sabertooth Belly Putter
T4 – White Hot XG #7
The official 2012 worldwide Tour schedule also ended on Sunday as the Japanese Tour finished up their last official event of the season. We’ve taken a look at the final numbers for Odyssey this year and, yeah, we have a few reasons to brag. Odyssey led all putter brands with 55 wins across the six major worldwide Tours this season and earned over $37.4 million in those wins.
These numbers have inspired our Tour Blog Team to spend even more hours on the practice green after work, and during work hours. Hey, if we can play our way onto the big stage and win one of those checks, we’re really doing the Company a favor. We’re just trying to be team players, and we don’t expect any concerns from the HR Department.
Furyk Finishes T4
Jim Furyk used his trusty RAZR Fit Driver and HEX Black Tour Ball to hit fairways all week during his T4 finish at the World Challenge. The Callaway Driver and Golf Ball staffer shot 69-69-71-70 to cap off a year that’s been filled with high finishes and strong performances. He made just one bogey over his final 22 holes and now can enjoy some holiday weather before he gets ready for next season.
(Editor’s note: It turns out Jim lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, so it’s more like sunny to slightly overcast weather, not the snowy stuff. We even checked the national weather report just to be safe and they confirmed no snow for Florida this month. We’re glad we could clear that up.)
Watkins Graduates At Q School, Secures PGA Tour Card

Big kudos go out to Callaway staffer and new PGA Tour member Aaron Watkins! Watkins closed with a 69 at Q School on Monday to finish T17, two shots inside the final number for players who clinched their cards for 2013. He used a RAZR Fit Driver, HEX Black Tour Ball, RAZR X Muscleback Irons and an Odyssey Metal-X 2-Ball Putter during what has to be the biggest week of his career. Congratulations Aaron! We can’t wait to see on Tour next year.

Metal-X Arm Lock Putters Are The Answer To The Anchoring Ban

The proposed anchoring ban was the hottest topic in golf last week, and Odyssey quickly provided an answer to this ban by introducing new Metal-X Arm Lock Putters. These new putters conform to the anticipated ruling and offer an alternative method of stabilizing the putter through a natural-feeling extension of the golfer’s arm.
This method has been used on Tour for years, and last Friday Odyssey Global Director Chris Koske filmed a short video on how to putt with Arm Lock. You can watch that video by clicking on the link here: Arm Lock video.

Mickelsons Host Birdies For The Brave Event at TPC Sawgrass

Phil Mickelson showed why he’s a hall-of-fame humanitarian last week when he and his wife Amy hosted the “Birdies for the Brave” Military Appreciation Gala and Golf Event at TPC Sawgrass. A number of PGA Tour stars participated in the two-day event, as did former U.S. President Bill Clinton. According to the PGA Tour, profits from the weekend will benefit nine military home front groups that are part of Birdies for the Brave and which are supported by PGA Tour players.
During the event, Mickelson said, “To all come together has been so exciting for us as players and be part of this great opportunity to do something and show how much we care, love and respect our military and appreciate living in this great country.”
Mickelson also said, “We all have a responsibility – whether we’re on the front line or a civilian to make sure that the men and women that do put their lives on the line know how much we appreciate it, respect it, understand it and never take it for granted. We say thank you for everything you’ve done.”
Congratulations to the Mickelsons and everyone involved on a great event!

Great news you have on the dominant putters at The World Challenge!
Odyssey White Hot #7 seems to be the best. I’ll definitely tweet about that.
